Highly trained in both dental and oral surgery, his work specialized in full-mouth restorative procedures—particularly through implantology, helping patients regain articulation and mastication with dignity and confidence.
Academic and Professional Training
Dr. Messerschmidt earned a BS in Biochemistry from Loyola University and went on to receive his MS in Histopathology and Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Illinois. His commitment to lifelong learning led him to the Pankey Institute, where he deepened his expertise in implantology and advanced restorative techniques.
Public Service and Giving Back
For the last 17 years of his career, Dr. Messerschmidt dedicated his time to public service through the Virginia Department of Corrections. He served as the chief dentist at Lunenburg Correctional Facility in Victoria, Virginia, where he provided compassionate, essential dental care to underserved populations.
